Wapp 101
Yes, Wapp is an app-based insurance product. Your cover can only start if the phone you have Wapp installed on is turned on along with push notifications and location services when you arrive in a country outside of the UK.
You can only log in to Wapp on one phone at a time. This means the main Wapp account holder needs to be on the trip for the cover to be active – or we won’t know you’re away!
If you’re looking for travel insurance from Wapp, you can download the app on your Android or Apple device to get started. Click one of the icons below to head over to the app store.
When you’ve turned on location services, this allows the app to ping your location. These pings essentially tell us if your cover needs to be turned on or off depending on where you are in the world.
This is why location services need to be set to ‘always allow’, because if the app doesn’t ping your location, we won’t be able to verify your cover being active.
For more information on how location services work, please read our privacy policy.
You can add up to four adults (including yourself) and four children on your policy. You can add, amend or remove the people from your travel cover before you set off.
Don’t forget, the main policyholder needs to be on the trip for cover to be active for all people added and toggled on in the policy. Family and friends who travel regularly, and sometimes separately to the main policyholder may find it easier to set up their own Wapp account.
While you’re at home in the UK, you can check and manage your cover and options for your next trip.
Selected cover levels apply to everyone on the policy when cover is toggled on at any given time.
Changes can be made by logging into your account online or on the app.
